HALFLIFE ("we", "our", "the app") is the operator of this service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the HALFLIFE iOS application.

Information We Collect

Account Data: When you use HALFLIFE, we create an anonymous account using Firebase Authentication. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, optionally, your name and email address.

Health & Usage Data: The app collects the caffeine intake data you enter (drinks, quantities, timing), your taper plan preferences, symptom log entries, and progress data. This data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore and is associated with your anonymous or Apple account.

Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as screen views, feature usage, and app events. This helps us improve the app. Analytics data is not linked to your identity.

Subscription Data: Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We do not have access to your payment information.

How We Use Your Data

To generate and maintain your personalized taper plan
To track your caffeine intake and calculate your daily budget
To predict withdrawal symptoms based on your taper progress
To sync your data across devices via Firebase
To send you notifications you've opted into (budget reminders, insights)
To improve the app through anonymized analytics

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with security rules that ensure only you can access your data. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Firebase infrastructure is hosted in the United States.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers who are necessary for the app to function:

Google Firebase — authentication, data storage, analytics
RevenueCat — subscription management
Superwall — paywall presentation and A/B testing
AppsFlyer — mobile attribution and analytics (only for users who consent to tracking via App Tracking Transparency)

These providers process data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete all your data at any time through the app (Settings > Delete all my data). Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed from this device and our servers.

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Export your data
Withdraw consent for optional data processing

Children's Privacy

HALFLIFE is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
